A Trip to the Karmel Market

Here are some pictures from the market. The aroma from the different spices assault you as you walk by -- but in a good way.

I haven't tried the "bageles" yet, but they do look yummy.

At first I thought this "pate" stand was a Halavah store. That's why I took the pic.

Friday morning at the market is quite crowded. Everyone is buying food for the next two days as most shops are closed on Saturday. I was doing the same!

Hey Lizzie -- I bought cucumbers, tomatoes, apples, olives. I didn't buy the spices this time... Is there anything i can get for you? I will bring them back!!

I am trying really hard not to buy the bagel/pretzel stuff -- I think once i do, I will be buying it EVERYDAY!!

Its hard to read the spices. Do they have completely different names or are they spelled phonetically in Hebrew? How would you know what you are buying? Personally I love tumeric and nutmeg and some dead sea salt would be lovely.
